ROOFTOP GARDEN · UPPER WEST SIDE · 2025
The Wind Terrace
Design, install & maintenance · Planters, lighting, irrigation · Spent substrate and coffee ground mulch applied spring 2026
Sixteen floors above the Hudson, the wind is not a problem to solve. It is the site. We designed with it rather than against it, choosing native grasses that express movement and change through the seasons, and evergreen trees positioned strategically to create privacy without blocking the sky. The result is a genuinely low maintenance garden that earns its beauty from the elements movement.

MYCOSCAPING NOTE
In spring 2026 we mulched all beds with spent mushroom substrate and coffee grounds, beginning to build the soil biology from above while inoculation goes in next season. Switchgrass cuttings from this garden are being used for mycomaterials experimentation.
